If resolving mysteries, understanding the human nature within the confines of a fictional world, and trying to make sense of the current conflict allures you then I’d say Hell Is Us is the perfect match for you. The game is unapologetically brutal in its visuals and narrative with a modest sizeable world to explore. But what makes Hell Is Us shine isn’t the gore. It is its narrative that feels too eerily familiar to current political climate and perhaps an opening to peer into the religious fervor of Hadea’s inhabitants.

That’s how I feel right now about the game. I think there’s a lot to improve starting with the game’s map. While I understand the purpose of not having a map… I just don’t see any benefits of not having it either. It doesn’t really introduce any element into the experience besides mild frustration of getting lost.

I surely have had my fun with this title—I hope the ending isn’t disappointing after all the hurdles the main character has to go through. There’s no doubt that I’ll eventually write my final thoughts on this once I’m done with the game.
