Recently I acquired a Samsung 65″ S90F from Costco, and I feel conflicted. I’m not usually one to be into really lavish things, but this was a display model with a free 5-year warranty included for only $700. Part of me clicked almost instantly that I wanted this.

And… it’s been an amazing experience. Having an OLED screen is unexpectedly so… vibrant, colorful, and the contrast and brightness are just perfect. And I hate it. Part of me feels like I just splurged into materialism and vanity—and the other half is pure joy.

Gaming on it with HDR and 120Hz looks absurd.

And I guess the guilt doesn’t really matter—honestly, you only live once. All that nonsense aside, I’ve been going down a rabbit hole revisiting the Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Rings of Power. Visually Rings of Power is amazing, but it’s still way too soap opera for me. It feels like they diluted the lore just to chase a massive audience, and you lose what makes Middle-earth and Arda special.

Still, I’d say I’m a happy camper.
